Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe has just announced she will launch The Rachel Zoe Collection – a lifestyle brand with contemporary accessories, shoes and apparel with the possibility of a home wear collection down the line. The collection will hit the stores in autumn 2011.
Rachel Zoe Inc. was established in 2005 when she was ‘just’ a celebrity stylist (current clients include Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Anne Hathaway, Eva Mendes, Jennifer Garner and Demi Moore), and now comprises four subdivisions: styling, media (print, broadcast and digital), product development and consulting (she has an ongoing gig with Piperlime.com). In the last year, her Los Angeles operation has expanded from one to four offices with 14 full-time employees, including her husband, Rodger Berman, a former investment banker, now president of Rachel Zoe Inc., and Brad Goreski, her top assistant and flamboyant co-star of the reality TV programme “The Rachel Zoe Project.” Furthermore, she is very aware of promoting her brand. She currently has 181.000 followers on Twitter and counting.
Interesting to see if this is yet another stylist-turned-designer collection, or if Rachel will really hit it off like she’s done with her styling, books, newsletters and TV programme.

The presentation will officially take place this autumn and reflects our own Danish Queen Margrethe’s recognition of Denmark’s grand old fashion journalist Didder Rønlund who was honoured earlier this year.
“I am very pleased,” Knight told Vogue.com. “It was a lovely surprise and not part of my game plan at all. I love my work and find it very exciting so it’s very gratifying to have it recognised in such a public way.”

Spring and early summer is the essence of showcasing the new and upcoming talents. London and especially Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion are known as a creative melting pot turning out tomorrow’s bright new shining design superstars.
The BA graduates from London College of Fashion showcased their work yesterday at an event held at The Dairy in central London. Among the guest were heavy and important industry figures such as Jane Shepherdson (former Brand Director at Top Shop), Colin McDowell (Sunday Times) and Harold Tillman (chairman of The British Fashion Council).
Only time will show if the names; Nattaphon Sampathakdee, Yelena Loguiiko, Vilvin Sabu or Karishma Shahani rings a bell in a few years time.

Danish when it’s best – Italian Vogue has selected the hottest new face to be the Danish rising super model star Caroline Brasch Nielsen.
“The new way of searching models includes the wide range offered by Scandinavian countries as new hot spots…and Caroline Brasch Nielsen sprouts from that range” says Marilena Borgna from Vogue.it and continues, “the reason why we chose her is because she is really hot!”
The 179cm tall girl from Copenhagen has already impressed at last season’s fashion weeks – Chanel, Balenciaga, Dries van Noten, YSL and Louis Vuitton is just a few of the catwalks she dominated.

Didder Rønlund, Danish fashion journalism’s ‘grand old lady’ has been honoured with a Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog. It happened when Queen Margrethe II, in keeping with tradition, took advantage of her birthday to grant decorations.
In the setting to the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog it said: “She (Didder Rønlund, ed.) paved the way for countless generations to work in this field and is a crucial factor that Danes became internationalized, compared to the great world stylists, and fashion industry as a both artistic and cultural phenomenon. ”
Didder Rønlund was the first European journalist who was sent off to New York to cover the fashion week and at the age of 83 she is still an active fashion journalist.
I was so lucky to meet Didder in an interview to Elle, which was a fantastic and unforgettable experience. I was invited to tea and sandwiches in her cozy apartment and to witness her talking about her fascinating life, both privately and professionally, her joie de vivre and unique personality was an experience I will never forget.
Warm and heartfelt congratulations Didder!
